When the Israelites crossed the Jordon River to conquer the promised land, I have been struck by God’s reasons for completing that mission.  One of the main reasons God wanted them to kill all the inhabitants of those lands and burn their high places of worship was to wipe out idolatry.  Another reason was because of sodomy in the lands of the Hittites, the Girgashites, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites.

However, the Israelites did not follow God’s commands.  They were told to wipe out all of the inhabitants of those lands, but they did not and they ended up worshiping their idols and even had a house of sodomy next to the temple at one point.

2Kings 23:7  And he brake down the houses of the sodomites, that were by the house of the LORD, where the women wove hangings for the grove.

I was reminded of this abomination this morning as I was listening to the national news.  Yesterday, Donna Summer died of cancer.  I remember her and watched her on television several times.  My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.  What disturbed me was what the newscast said.  They said that she was “The Queen of Disco” and a big star until she made some comments that were taken as detrimental to “gays.”  Then, said they, she lost most of her audience because she had a large following from the gay community.  The so-called gay-community only makes up about 1 and 1/2 percent of the population.  That’s not what I would call a large group.  They are just loud and overbearing.

What irritates me is that television and movies are trying to jam this abominable (God’s term) practice down our throats AND it seems that our nation is rapidly accepting this as normal.  It is anything but normal.  It is a perversion of natural law as well as against God’s precepts.

Strangely, many are afraid that our nation is going to be taken over by the Muslims or the Chinese, but I am more convinced that God has lifted His hand of blessing from off this nation and declared it reprobate because of sodomy and idol worship.

We read that in the last days, there will be a falling away of so-called Christians.  Many of our mainstream denominations are accepting sodomy as normal and God is not pleased.  We wonder why our economy is so bad and our debt is so high.  People are out of work and cannot find jobs anymore.

America, WAKE UP!  You, like Israel had the opportunity to follow God’s commandments, but you have rejected them and are suffering the consequences of your sin and neglect.

I am reminded of that verse in Matthew that when Jesus comes, things on this earth will be similar to what happened in Noah’s day.  They were just going along with the flow, doing what comes naturally, unobservant about the approaching disaster and then it hit.

True believers need to be alert and remain faithful and prepare for the flood of problems that are headed America’s way.  They are almost upon us.  May God help us!
