God-breathed His Message

There are several basic tenants or foundational truths of the Christian faith.  They are important to understanding truth from the Scriptures.

1.  Inspiration of the Scriptures.  This means that all Scripture, The Bible, was given by God and in the original manuscripts it was inspired (God-breathed) down to the very tense of the verb, and it has been preserved by the Holy Spirit and the omnipotence of God so that what we have today can be trusted to be true and accurate.
2Timothy 3:16-17  All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness,  (17)  so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
1Peter 1:23-25  since you have been born again—not of perishable seed but of imperishable—through the living and enduring word of God.  (24)  For All flesh is like grass, and all its glory like a flower of the grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls,  (25)  but the word of the Lord endures forever. And this is the word that was preached as the gospel to you.
2Peter 1:16-21  For we did not follow cleverly contrived myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ; instead, we were eyewitnesses of His majesty.  (17)  For when He received honor and glory from God the Father, a voice came to Him from the Majestic Glory: This is My beloved Son. I take delight in Him!  (18)  And we heard this voice when it came from heaven while we were with Him on the holy mountain.  (19)  So we have the prophetic word strongly confirmed. You will do well to pay attention to it, as to a lamp shining in a dismal place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.  (20)  First of all, you should know this: No prophecy of Scripture comes from one’s own interpretation,  (21)  because no prophecy ever came by the will of man; instead, men spoke from God as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.
The Bible was written over a period of 1500 years, had 40 different authors from different countries and different occupations, and each author was inspired (God-breathed) to write through the inspiration of Almighty God and used their own idiosyncrasies and styles of writing, but were individually directed by God so that their words were written down and preserved accurate and precise for us today.  The scarlet thread of blood sacrifices regarding redemption to restore fellowship with God was woven skillfully into the divine tapestry of the entire Bible and culminated in the final, once and for all sacrifice of the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ so that we could be saved forever.
We believe it, honor it, and consider it a privilege to be able to read it, study it, and teach it.
