Why? Because of the blessings of God. God has blessed me abundantly and keeps blessing me day by day. I am so thankful. He is the One Who is exceptional. I worship Him and praise Him for He is my Creator, Redeemer, and He is Holy, Righteous, Just, Merciful, Patient, and Kind to His children. How can I not praise Him?
I sense His love every day in my life and His love causes a reaction in my soul of joyfulness. I read the Psalms and see David in danger for his life and yet his dependence upon God brings him to joyfulness and praise as he sits in a cave trusting God to protect him from those who want to kill him.
Do you sense what I do? Have you been so focused upon your problems and difficulties that you have overlooked His faithfulness. Are you not thankful that He is faithful even when we are not?
I look back over my life and for 69 of my 75 years I have known my Savior. I came to Christ when I was only six and was baptized when I was nine. I have been discouraged and depressed while looking at my circumstances, yet He remained faithful.
After I preached revivals for many years across the country and made some records in the 70’s, I became so distraught and beat down that I quit serving Him. I walked my own road and was angry and fed up with my life and others.
I traveled on the wrong side of holiness for several years. I neglected God and was fed up with life and searched for happiness in worldly pleasures but I want you to know that God never left me. He kept speaking to me as I tried to run away and I knew it was the Holy Spirit still within seeking to draw me back into the fold. Christians that I knew never called me. My pastor never called me. My so-called friends who knew I was hurting never called me or offered to pray for me.
After running for several years, I came back to Him, fell on my knees and repented of my sinfulness. It was because of His love and His faithfulness in never forsaking me that drew me back. So, you see, that is why I rejoice. That is why I went back to seminary and worked on learning more so I could help others. That is why I write and try to help people better understand this wonderful faithful God.
That is why I feel exceptional even though I am not exceptional. That is why I want to praise Him and thank Him over and over because He was faithful to me when I was not faithful to Him. Now, I live each day by the grace of God. I love His Word and I rejoice in my God.
I pray that God will bless you so that you will know that no one loves you like Jesus and no one cares for you like your Father in Heaven, and no one will be as faithful to you throughout your life as God. Now, put on your exceptional!!!
