They like to shove it in our face!

Have you ever noticed how Hollywood sitcoms and New York television productions are always shoving their anti-Christian morality in our faces? I get tired of it even though I am not surprised and expect such evil venom from the world.

I just watched a commercial that showed two girls talking about getting married. They were in Las Vegas, which was the commercials’ point. They were trying to get you to spend your money and come to Las Vegas. The two girls said “Let’s just do it!” Then next scene shows them in front of a small chapel crowd. Their parents show up, obviously showing their approval, and the two girls joyfully kiss. All the while, I tried to keep from regurgitating my food.

This sickness of sin is permeating the sitcoms and most programs. They are out of touch with most Americans and especially God’s Word. My spirt revolts within me as they shove this abnormal lifestyle right in our faces.

Parents need to protect their children from much of television. Adults need to be in the Word and prayer so they do not become immune to this abhorrent behavior. It is easy to compromise our convictions over a period of time and begin to tolerate and accept behaviors that God condemns.

Keep in mind, we are to love those who despitefully use us or hate us. That means we do not judge people but we let God’s Word show us right from wrong. Jesus is the final judge.

I do not know about you, but it is difficult to hate sin in my own life and love people who are engaged in a sin the Word condemns. It is a delicate line to walk, but it is Gods commands upon my life that cause me to love those who may seem unloveable.

That is our task in an evil world. May God help us all to remain true to Him in everything.
