Today is a day we thank God for our country. It continues to be the greatest country that has ever existed. The world rises and falls as the United States moves both economically and spiritually. No other nation has equaled the power and prosperity of America in the history of this world.
Our country began as a group of people who were pioneers and brave enough to leave their homeland to come to a place where they could worship freely as they chose. Freedom is a theme throughout the Bible. From Genesis to Revelation, God helped people to be free from oppression. The key was always following His leadership. One is never totally free until he settles things with God.
Our nation is in turmoil today. Over half of our people do not want to do things God’s way. Like the ancient Israelites, they want to ignore God and go the opposite of His commands. It is not a complex problem, that is, understanding America’s problems. When a people rebel against God, they will suffer defeat. God still blesses America in spite of all their rebellion because of all the faithful children He has in the land.
God is patient and merciful, but we must also understand that we are probably coming to the close of the age of the Church. Things in the world will continue to get worse. Christians will be increasingly persecuted in the world and especially in America. We have already seen the vileness of Satan creeping up swiftly in our country, working through those who are open to his leadership. Hatred is spewing out and we are feeling the heat of the battle to be true to God Almighty.
Stand true dear Christian to God and His Word. Do not compromise one iota with the devil. Do not compromise with this godless world because they hate Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord and compromising will bring you down spiritually. Be strong. Stand on your own two feet. Do not be weary in well doing, but in everything give thanks to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the Son of God and the keeper of our souls.
Have a blessed Fourth!
