It’s Like We Live in a Canaanite Nation!

Here are some thoughts.

We want all Biblical precepts followed in our country, but though that would be good, it is not going to happen on this earth. We want prayer and Bible reading in our public schools. We want prayer before football games like the old days. We want American to be a Christian nation but it is not and I do not believe it will happen before Jesus comes. Remember things are going to get worse, lawlessness is going to increase and that is the reality of what’s happening in America today.

Many like to quote 2 Chronicles 7:14 Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and forgive their sin and heal their land”—- but Israel was a nation under a theocracy. That is a misapplication of Scripture, in my opinion because the context does not match. We are not Israel and America has always been a nation welcoming any religion from its beginning. But not Israel. God punished their nation because they worshipped other gods and He wouldn’t allow them to do that.

So while we want America to be a Christian nation, we have a republic governed by the people (we hope) and not a theocracy like Israel. That is a vast difference.

So let’s keep praying for America, reaching people for Christ, being salt and light in a world where we may not have the majority of people agreeing with Biblical precepts and May God Help Us until He comes.
