Recently Lauren Daigle was ask a question on homosexuality and her answer has caused quite a stir among many people. We need to be able to answer people when they ask us questions, however, no one has all the answers except God Himself. But we need to be prepared.
Most people know what the Bible says on this subject. So that is not what questioners mean when they ask “Is homosexuality a sin.” They are generally seeking to judge you and condemn you if you answer directly what the Bible says. Most of them know what you are going to say but they want to trap you.
The good news is “you don’t need to be trapped.” Here are some things you need to know about what God says.
First of all, we are not to judge others. That is left up to God and most people asking that question don’t care what God says anyway. They just want to condemn you for believing what God says.
Secondly, Jesus is the One Who will judge the world when the books are opened and everyone will be judged on what they did with God’s invitation to follow His Son Jesus and they will be condemned by their works and their rejection of Jesus as God’s Son.
So let me give you a little idea about answering the world when they ask about homosexuality. Remember, God may be dealing with them when they ask this and we know that Jesus died for everyone. So answering the truth in love is not that difficult when you think about it. Here’s my thought.
Question: Do you think homosexuality is a sin?
Answer: Well, Jesus told me not to judge anyone because He is the One Who will judge everyone and that will be at the end of this age. However, the message Jesus wanted me to tell everyone is that He came and died on the cross so that we all could be saved and spend eternity in Heaven with Him.
Alert: If he/she continues to press you for an answer, say: If you want to know the answer, you can read what God says, then you will have to argue or disagree with God if you don’t like what He says. I’m not going down that road to judging anyone.
